Eight 'House Of Cards' Employees Are Accusing Kevin Spacey Of Sexual Misconduct

In case you've been holed up in a basement without technology for the last month, you obviously know about the allegations being made against many prominent male figures in Hollywood. One by one, women (including many famous actresses) have started coming forward with allegations of sexual misconduct exhibited by famous film producer Harvey Weinstein.

This opened the floodgate for more women and men to talk about similar ordeals they had faced at the hands of other big names, and the most recent these saw actor Anthony Rapp accusing Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct when Rapp was just 14 years old. Well, the bad news just keeps rolling in for Spacey, who has just been accused of sexual misconduct by eight House of Cards employees.

The allegations against Spacey began last week when Anthony Rapp alleged that the actor made sexual advances towards him when he was 14 years old. 

After Rapp told details of the encounter to BuzzFeed News, Spacey released a public apology which, in part, read, "I honestly do not remember the encounter." He also used the apology as a platform for coming out as gay, which angered many as it appeared he was trying to deflect attention from the severity of the accusations. 

The week went downhill from there for Spacey, whose agency (Creative Artists Agency) and publicist announced they were parting ways with the actor earlier this week. 

It was also announced this week that House of Cards would be canceled after six seasons and that Spacey would be entering a treatment center for unspecified reasons. 

And now, eight former and current House of Cards employees are alleging accounts of sexual harassment, assault, and misconduct against the actor. 

The eight employees chose to remain anonymous but disclosed to CNN that Spacey exhibited "predatory" behavior that included nonconsensual touching and inappropriate comments, and that he mainly targeted production workers who were young men. 

One production assistant disclosed, "I have no doubt that this type of predatory behavior was routine for him, [...] that my experience was one of many and that Kevin had few if any qualms about exploiting his status and position."

He continued, "It was a toxic environment for young men who had to interact with him at all in the crew, cast, background actors." 

Spacey has yet to respond to these new allegations. 

If more people continue to speak up about their experiences with sexual harassment in Hollywood, hopefully these behaviors will start to diminish and those who are found guilty will be brought to justice.
