Fake CBSE Letter Creates Confusion Over Class 10th and 12th Results Announcement
Millions of students and their parents eagerly awaiting the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results for class XII and class X board exams were left disappointed when a fake letter circulated on WhatsApp groups claiming that the results would be declared on May 11. The letter, which featured a forged signature of CBSE director (academics) Joseph Emmanuel, quickly went viral, causing anxiety among students, teachers, and school principals who shared it for confirmation. However, CBSE authorities promptly declared the letter to be fake and clarified that the results were in the final stage of preparation and expected to be released this week.
A senior CBSE official emphasized that CBSE never announces the date of result declaration in advance but assured that the results for both classes were being finalized and would be announced very soon. The circulation of the fake letter caught CBSE officials off guard as numerous schools affiliated with the board reached out to confirm its authenticity.
It is noteworthy that a similar fake letter had circulated in 2020, leading to a clarification from CBSE at that time as well. The previous fake letter bore the forged signature of CBSE secretary Anurag Tripathi.
