Cardi B Finally Confirmed Why She's Feuding With Nicki Minaj

Cardi B Finally Confirmed Why She's Feuding With Nicki Minaj

Gather round, friends. Make yourselves comfortable as I tell you the tale of the great celebrity feud of 2018, involving both a 25- and a 35-year-old woman.
Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have had some major beef going on lately, and as amusing as it is to watch from a safe distance, there's finally an explanation to this drama — and it's both petty and completely satisfying.

Alright, now I'm not going to just assume that you're fully up to date on the drama between Nicki and Cardi B.

So please allow me to lay it out for you in the briefest way I possibly can.

These two leading ladies are no strangers in the rapping industry.

In fact, they were both featured on the song "MotorSport" by Migos, which came out back in October 2017.
According to Us Weekly, there was a little bit of drama surrounding their verses in the song, but nothing major. We lost no sleep over it.

Flash forward to August 2018.

Cardi took to Twitter to celebrate rapper Kodak Black's release from prison. The greeting was controversial, considering that he was convicted on multiple charges, including child neglect, reports Rolling Stone.

Cardi was called out by several fans for supporting him, especially considering that she had just welcomed a daughter of her own to the world.

In turn, in a video posted by Twitter user @TyKENSOO, Nicki then apparently liked (and then unliked) certain tweets that bashed Cardi for supporting him.

And as most of you might know by now, during the Harper's Bazaar Icons event, Nicki and Cardi got into a brawl captured on camera by TMZ, and it ended with Cardi leaving the event — without her shoe.

Word is that she threw her shoe at Nicki, so there's that.

Cardi then shared a text post on Instagram the next day, and it was the furthest thing from an apology.

She accused Nicki of basically preventing her from working and earning money, and of course she brought up the tweets that Nicki had allegedly liked.

Anyway, the two continued to go back and forth for a while there.

According to Noisey, Nicki would talk about Cardi on her radio show, Queen Radio, and deny ever doing anything wrong.
On Instagram, Cardi would share how successful her album was compared to Nicki's in the least subtle way possible.
And let me just take this time to remind you all that these women are in their mid-twenties and thirties.

One of Nicki's most recent jabs to Cardi is the clothing line she just dropped.

It took fans .005 seconds to realize that all of Nicki's merch had the phrase "NICKI STOPPED MY BAG" printed across everything.

That's right, Nicki is for real out here capitalizing on this feud.

Because in case you forgot, Cardi mentioned that Nicki was stopping her bag (preventing her from making money) in her Instagram post.
"I let a lot of [expletive] slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, [expletive] up the way I eat!" she wrote.

Anyway, that's the general gist of the feud.

And now Cardi is speaking out in an interview with W Magazine to confirm exactly why she's so fired up.

"For a while now she's been taking a lot of shots at me," Cardi began when Nicki's name was mentioned.

"I spoke to her twice before, and we came to an understanding. But she kept it going.”

But Cardi confirmed that the straw that broke the camel's back — the reason these two have been at war for so long — was Nicki liking and unliking a tweet about her mothering.

"I was going to make millions off my Bruno Mars tour, and I sacrificed that to stay with my daughter," she told W.

She explained that she loves her daughter and that's she's a good mother (with a few colorful expletives thrown in).

"So for somebody that don't have a child to like that comment?" She continued.

"So many people want to say that party wasn't the time or the place, but I'm not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or down the block."

And I mean, fair. The chances of Cardi running into Nicki while picking up a carton of milk are slim to none.

But does that mean that she had to throw her shoe at all? Probably not.

But at least we can all sleep easy at night knowing that this feud was definitely over a liked tweet.

And personally, I'm so relieved that I'm not famous because liking snide tweets is my favorite pastime, just saying.
