What Body Language Experts Say About Prince Harry And His Wedding Band

What Body Language Experts Say About Prince Harry And His Wedding Band

I can't decide if I'd like to be a member of the Royal Family or not (as if I'd ever be given the option).
Some days, it seems pretty great. Getting that once-in-a-lifetime wedding, living in a palace, and of course, getting a cool title like Duchess or Princess.
Then again, the family seems to follow some pretty strict rules. Every step a member of the family takes is looked at under a microscope, and I don't know if I could live like that.
You can do something as simple as playing with your wedding band like Prince Harry did, and suddenly the rumors start swirling. It's wild!

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (aka Meghan Markle) pulled off the royal wedding of the decade earlier this year.

Okay, Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding was iconic too — don't worry, I didn't forget.

Their special day was full of famous faces, fancy hats, impressive choirs, and of course, a handful of memeable moments.

Because it's 2018 and if a televised event isn't turned into a meme, did it even happen?

For the most part, people are in love with Harry and Meghan's love story.

They met abroad, fell in love, kept up a long-distance relationship for some time, and they're both lovely people who seem to be made for each other.
I ship it.

And maybe I'm a hopeless romantic (or just not a giant pessimist), but I really do think that these two are going to make it.

 What a crazy concept, right?

A majority of people are also rooting for these two, but because we can't have nice things, there's always going to be the doubters who look for any sign of trouble in paradise.

Which brings us to some recent photos that were snapped of Harry.

The other day, Harry took a solo trip to The Royal Marines Commando Training Centre in Lympstone.

I won't even pretend to know what he did during the visit, but he took a helicopter there, so it must be some very important military business of sorts.

Anyway, photographers captured the visit and snapped several pictures of Harry playing with his wedding band.

 A TMZ-worthy scandal, right???

Now, some unofficial sources have claimed that fiddling with your wedding band can be a sign of lying or regret — basically, nothing good.

To a point, body language does hold some accuracy, but let's all just calm down for a second.

But to all the Harry and Meghan shippers out there, don't worry!

It looks like there's still going to be plenty of official royal weddings in our future.

The Express spoke to body language expert Judi James, who calmed all of our fears.

But can I just say that it's kind of hilarious that, thanks to social media being as savage as it is these days, we have to resort to a "body language expert" at all?
I mean, honestly

"Men are often seen fiddling with their wedding rings," Judi said.

"In Harry's case, this looks like a self-comfort ritual performed for two reasons: when he's feeling under pressure or lonely."

Judi explained that Prince Harry fiddling with his wedding band could also be a bit of a defensive gesture.

"Firstly, it allows him to create a barrier with his arms but by seeking out his wedding ring to touch and play with it suggests he's missing the back-up and support of his wife here."

"The ritual would take on a different meaning if the ring were being pulled up and down the finger or even on and off when it would be much more likely to signal a rift or potential divorce!" she added.

So there you have it.

We can sleep soundly at night knowing that Prince Harry is playing with his wedding band because he likely misses his wife!

There's also the chance that he was just adjusting the band — or hey, maybe his finger was itchy.

Not everything has to have a majorly deep meaning. Who knows!

But when we live in a world of judgmental social media, it's important to nip the divorce rumors in the bud before they even have a chance to start.
