Mom Pens Brutally Honest Family Christmas Card And It's Hilariously Relatable

For most people, a Christmas card is something you receive in the mail a few weeks before the big guy slides down the chimney. Out of respect for your family, friends, mortgage agent, and distant acquaintances, you tack the card up on the fridge for a few weeks, until it is socially acceptable to trash it.
But for some people, a holiday greeting card is a huge display of Christmas spirit and familial strength. It's these people who often ship out over-the-top card stock portraits with several frames in multiple poses and maybe even the family dog.

If you're one of the extra-festive sponges of Christmas cheer, good for you.

You can have all the wrapping, decorating, and family dinners. I'll just be over here enjoying my eggnog and gingerbread.

Fortunately, Lisa Allen isn't letting Christmas cloud her judgment.

Just look at the card she fashioned to send to all her family and friends. Why kiss under the mistletoe when you can drop a few truth bombs on the ones you love?

Finally, someone says what they're actually thinking.

Her family is probably lovely, but just like literally every person alive, they're not perfect.

In her card, she describes her youngest son, Landon, as "Our precious and super annoying 3yr old." If you know even one three-year-old, you'll know that she's not lying.

"Whines all the time and doesn’t go to sleep when he’s told. Cries when he doesn’t get Gushers after dinner."
So yeah, I can totally see why he's the annoying one.

Last, but definitely not least, the Allen family's oldest daughter, Maddy. Obviously Maddy "wants to drop out of school to become Insta famous," because so does every other teenage girl with a smartphone.

And the drama continues...
"[She] got fired from Sephora after telling her boss 'just because I’m on the schedule doesn’t mean I have to show up.'"
Which sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Call me jaded, but after reading about this family's attempt at a clever yet brutally honest Christmas card, I'm pretty much over the holiday season.
