Model Ines Rau Is The First  Transgender Playmate For 'Playboy'

Playboy is making history by featuring its first transgender Playmate, French model Ines Rau.

Ines Rau will be the first openly transgender Playmate who will grace the coveted centerfold spot.

Playboy previously featured transgender model and Bond Girl Caroline "Tula" Cossey in 1991, however she was not featured as a Playmate.

Caroline tweeted congratulations to Ines — and also asked what took so long, seeing as how Caroline posed for the magazine years ago.

On how she felt during the photoshoot, Ines said, "When I was doing this shoot, I was thinking of all those hard days in my childhood."

The model added, "I thought, 'Am I really going to be a Playmate—me?' It’s the most beautiful compliment I've ever received. It's like getting a giant bouquet of roses."

Ines also said, "I'm an advocate for anyone who is scared to be who they really are because they fear being judged or rejected. They should be empowered by their differences and not be who society tells them to be." Yas! Yas! Yas!
