16 Helpful Makeup Tips For Those Who Wear Glasses

16 Helpful Makeup Tips For Those Who Wear Glasses

As somebody who wears both glasses and a lot of makeup every single day, I am well acquainted with the struggles that come with balancing both of these things.
Thankfully, there are some pretty handy beauty tips out there to keep your glasses in place and smudge-free, and my life will never be the same.

1. When you're wearing glasses, it's important not to forget the brows.

If you leave them untamed, they'll only have more attention drawn to them. Try brushing them upwards and getting them as dramatic as possible (without going overboard).

2. Glasses tend to cast a shadow underneath your eyes, where dark circles may already exist.

Try skipping the concealer and going for a color corrector instead. It'll help fight the darkness and keep you looking bright-eyed!

3. Before you apply your eyeshadow, make sure you put a good primer on your lids first.

Actually, even if you don't wear glasses, you should be doing this anyway. It leaves you with a gorgeous, long-lasting look.

4. Try matching your eyeshadow to the color of your frames.

If they're a neutral color, go for a similarly neutral eyeshadow. You might just be surprised with how it ends up looking!

5. What's really going to make your eyes pop is how you apply your eyeliner.

If you have smaller frames, don't go overboard with the liner. A little bit will go a long way here.

6. If you want to keep it subtle, you could try tightlining your eyes.

For those who don't know, tightlining is where you fill in the base of your lash line with eyeliner. It creates a full-lash effect without looking like you've gone overboard.

7. If you have thicker frames, feel free to try going thick with the eyeliner, too.

There's nothing wrong with a dramatic look, but it'll pop so much more if your frames match.

8. With colorful lenses, try matching the shade to your eyeshadow.

Go with a shade lighter for the base and a shade darker for the crease. Your eyes will really pop!

9. What's really important to remember here is that you give yourself a lot of definition in the crease.

It'll give your eyes a lot of depth but still keep it clean! You don't want your glasses magnifying a shadowy mess.

10. You can also rock the bright and colorful eyeshadow look if you have bigger frames.

It gives you more eye space to rock a bold look, and trust me, people will notice!

11. A big challenge for those who wear glasses is being able to see what you're even doing.

They actually sell these amazing magnifying glasses that you can wear while you do your makeup, so worry no more!

12. There's nothing more annoying than having your glasses slide down your nose all day.

The nose pads are constantly covered in makeup, and it's a gross situation.
To combat this, simply remember to set your makeup with a translucent setting powder before you start your day!

13. Have you ever found flakes of mascara on your lenses after a long day?

If so, try switching mascaras to something with a cream base. It should keep things in place!

14. When you apply mascara, consider just sticking to the top lashes.

Adding it on the bottom lashes might just be a little too much drama for your frames. Trust us on this one.

15. Those of us who are really have a hard time seeing without their glasses could also try using travel-sized makeup brushes instead of regular ones.

The shorter handles make it easier to get your makeup looking precise.

16. Most importantly, have fun with it!

Only you know your face best, and if you like a look, just go for it. Confidence is what's important!
