12 Things About The '90s That Are Just Too Much To Handle In 2017

12 Things About The '90s That Are Just Too Much To Handle In 2017

For the '90s kids out there, it's nice to take a trip down memory lane and remember simpler times. It's hard to believe that we used to play outside or spent our nights playing Pokémon on our Game Boys.
Let's take a look at some '90s facts and memes that are, quite frankly, kind of depressing.

1. Now we complain when our phones are out of battery or we lose a follower on Instagram. BUT WE HAD REAL STRUGGLES IN THE '90s.

Connecting to the internet was the hardest.

2. When you are so emotionally scarred by the fact that A) Mufasa died and B) The Lion King has been out for over 20 years.

Scar, we'll never forgive you. Never.

3. "You know, when I was your age, I saw VHS tapes go extinct."

I was that monster who would watch the movie and then put it back in the case without rewinding. Sorry, not sorry!

5. Remember the genuine fear from the FBI warning at the beginning of VHS tapes?

That was the definition of being scared straight. It was pretty easy to resist the urge to copy all our Disney movies.

6. Y'all ready for this one? The Backstreet Boys have been a band for 24 years.

They formed back in 1993 in Florida and have been blessing us with amazing music ever since.

7. Sorry, what now? Songs by Sum 41 are now considered oldies? THIS. IS. UNACCEPTABLE.

Well, it's time to start going to bed at 8 p.m. and eating dinner at 5 p.m. because we're officially old.

8. The N64 was released in 1996 and now lives on in museums.

So there's that. Who else remembers being so annoyed by the short cord on the controllers? Fighting your siblings to be Player One was another thing.

9. Cher Horowitz will always remain an immortal teenager in our eyes, but Alicia Silverstone is now 41 years old.

Bonus: Clueless came out 22 years ago and Paul Rudd still looks the same.

10. Kids nowadays have cool apps to help them learn math, but learning math in the '90s was lit with this device.

Turning the dials was just way too much fun.

11. Now we judge people based on Tinder profile pics, but back in the '90s, we'd highkey judge someone if they couldn't keep their Tamagotchi alive.

BRING THIS GAME BACK INTO OUR LIVES, PLEASE.

12. And finally, when you realize you have been jamming to "Wannabe" for 20 years.

And you know what? It's still catchy as hell even now.
