Unable To Recognize Herself, This Woman Decided 313 Pounds Was Enough And Changed Her Life

Unable To Recognize Herself, This Woman Decided 313 Pounds Was Enough And Changed Her Life

Weight loss and healthy living are two things that many people struggle with on a daily basis. For some individuals, controlling these obstacles is one of the biggest challenges they face and can be a lifelong battle.
If you or someone you know has been looking for the strength and motivation to get your health on the right track, a good place to start is by taking inspiration from others who have been in your shoes. Seeing for yourself that being happy, healthy, and fit is possible for regular, everyday people is a great motivator that can allow you to see your own potential and kick-start your journey.
Justine McCabe, a hairstylist and mother of two from Burbank, California, admits she has struggled with her weight for well over a decade.
She tried every diet you can think of but knew they were only short-term solutions that acted as bandaids for a much bigger problem.
However, the 31-year-old's struggle became even more difficult after her husband took his own life back in 2015 after battling depression.
In that moment, Justine's entire world was turned upside down and she relied on food for comfort more than ever before.
"I would say I consumed anywhere between 5,000 to 10,000 calories on a daily basis. I was completely broken and grieving. I had no desire to live."
At 313 pounds, Justine felt helpless, but for some reason, while standing in front of a mirror in her home, she decided to take a picture, and when she looked at it, she says she didn't recognize herself.
"I looked lost, broken, and full of darkness. So every day from there on out, I took a selfie with the hope that I would start to see myself again and reclaim my light."
It was in that moment that Justine decided to get to work.
In just over 12 months, Justine lost 126 pounds, and she kept her promise to herself by taking a photo every single day, which served as mini reminders of her journey.
Justine now exercises six days a week and enjoys participating in various activities, like spin classes, hiking, and lifting.
She also hired a personal trainer who formulated a meal plan for her. Justine went from eating burgers, fries, candy, and pizza every day to enjoying fish, chicken, veggies, fruits, and shakes.

"I have found my self love and confidence. I feel unstoppable."
