The Amazing Benefits of Water Melons

Water Melon Have fantastic Benefits

01) - Heart Attack

A daily slice of watermelon could help prevent heart disease by halting the build-up of harmful cholesterol.

The secret to watermelon's health-boosting properties lies in citruline, a chemical found in the juice.

02)-  Reduce Blood Pressure:-

  • Eating watermelon reduces pressure on the aorta and on the heart
  • The pressure on the heart is reduced even when the person is cold
  • People are more likely to have a heart attack when the weather is cold
  • This is because trying to keep warm puts strain on the heart

03)-  Kidney Health

Watermelons contain a lot of potassium, which is very helpful in cleaning or washing out the toxic depositions in the kidneys. Moreover, it is helpful in reducing the concentration of uric acid in the blood, thereby reducing the chances of kidney damage and the formation of renal calculi in that organ. Added to this, being high in water content, it induces frequent urinating, which is again helpful for cleaning of the kidneys. Also, the antioxidants present in watermelon ensure good health of the kidneys for a long time, and reduce signs of premature aging like wrinkles and age spots on the skin.

04)- Prevent to Sun Stroke:-

Watermelon is effective in reducing both your body temperature and blood pressure. Many people in tropical regions eat this fruit every day in the afternoon during the summer to protect themselves from heat stroke. In India, you will find the fruit being sold by vendors in almost every street during the summer season. The high amount of water contained in watermelon also stimulates a release of excess liquid in the form of sweat, which cools your body further during hot summer days.

05)- Improve Sexual Power

How could watermelon be a natural Viagra? The amino acid Citrulline is converted into the amino acid arginine, Bhimu Patil, PHD, director of the Fruit and Vegetable Improvement Center at Texas A&M University, College Station says. "This is a precursor for nitric oxide, and the nitric oxide will help in blood vessel dilation."

So, the burning question: How much watermelon does it take?

"That is a good question," Patil says. Unfortunately, "I don't have an answer for that."

He does know that a typical 4-ounce serving of watermelon (about 10 watermelon balls) has about 150 milligrams of Citrulline. But he can't say how much Citrulline is needed to have Viagra-like effects.

06)- Energy Booster

A daily serving of watermelon has been shown to boost energy levels by up to 23%. This is because watermelon contains vitamin B6, which the body uses to synthesize feel good dopamine. It also contains magnesium which assists in the body's formation of adenosine triphosphate. Like a rechargeable battery, this nucleotide fuel cellular function for all-day energy.

07) - Diabetics

Although watermelons have a high GI value, their glycemic load is low, making them good fruits for diabetes patients. However, consume in moderation. It is a good option for diabetics as it slows down the blood sugar peak.

08) -Strong Immune System

One of the most important steps you can take to maintain good health is to eat a healthy diet loaded with nutrients that will fortify your immune system. “I look for foods that contain particular vitamins and minerals,” says Lillian Craggs-Dino, RD, a registered dietician at the Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Bariatric and Metabolic Institute. “These are foods that can boost immunity and, in some cases, even fight infection.” She recommends the following 10 foods, which contain nutrients that help keep your immune system healthy and ready to fend off illness.

09)- Improve Eye Sight

Watermelon is packed with Vitamin A, which is great for your eyes. It helps to boost your eyesight power and it protects your eyes from various infections. Consume about 100 grams of watermelon each day to keep your eyes healthy and your eyesight sharp.

10)-Hydration

Staying hydrated plays an important role in your health because it makes up the base of your body fluids, including your blood, saliva and sweat. Getting enough water to maintain your blood pressure, ensures your tissues get the oxygen, nutrients and hormones from your bloodstream that they need to function, while water in your saliva contains enzymes that help break down your food. If you suffer from dehydration, your tissues -- which all rely on water to function -- can't work effectively. Dehydration can cause dry skin, dizziness, fatigue, an increased heart rate and impaired cognitive function.

A 2009 study at the University of Aberdeen Medical School found that the combination of salts, minerals and natural sugars in some fruits and vegetables can actually hydrate people more effectively than water or even sports drinks. Watermelon was on top of the list, thanks to its 92 percent water content and essential rehydration salts calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium.
