With a new Online Ethics Committee established, the Chinese government has taken a harder stance on reviewing online games. According to PCGamesN and Reddit, the first batch consisting of 20 games has been processed and the publishers of 11 titles out of them were instructed to commit corrective actions and remove or make changes to “ethically questionable content”. The others are finding themselves at the end of a ban hammer.

PUBG by Bluehole – blood and gore
Fortnite by Epic – blood and gore, vulgar content
Alliance of Valiant Arms by Red Duck – blood and gore, vulgar content
Ring of Elysium by Tencent – blood and gore, vulgar content
Paladins by Hi-Rez – Overly revealing female characters, blood and gore, vulgar content
Free Fire Battlegrounds by Garena – Overly revealing female characters, blood and gore, vulgar content
Knives Out by NetEase – Overly revealing female characters, blood and gore, vulgar content
Quantum Matrix by NetEase – Blood and gore, vulgar content, inharmonious chat
Other titles such as League of Legends, Blade & Soul, Overwatch, Diablo and World of Warcraft require “corrective actions”. World of Warcraft is already running a separate client for the Chinese region as it stands.
