Justin Bieber Foreshadowed His Engagement To Hailey Baldwin Back In 2016

For anyone who decided to go dark for a few days and is not aware of the celeb gossip that has taken over our lives, then this news alert is for you: Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are engaged!

Believe it, folks. It's happening. 

However, it seems like none of us have any right to be shocked because the Biebs dropped some serious hints a couple of years ago. 

Everyone got out their Sherlock hats when Justin's dad, Jeremy, posted a pic of Biebs with a caption that read, "Proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter."

TMZ reported the news that Justin and Hailey were getting hitched, and fans were quite taken aback. 

The pair has rekindled their relationship in the last little while. They previously dated in 2016 — keep that year in mind. 

We weren't going to believe it until there was some hard proof, and Justin gave us just that. The singer confirmed the news on the 'Gram with a post that melted our icy, cold hearts.

Hailey followed up with a tweet where she expressed her gratitude for finding someone amazing to spend her life with. 

We're not really surprised, seeing as she has been tweeting at the Biebs since 2011. We'll get to that.

People continued to be shooketh by the news, but we all have no right because Justin totally hinted that he would propose years ago. 

Let's all just take a moment to collect ourselves

Let me take you on a journey back to 2016 when Justin gave an interview with GQ. Justin and Hailey were dating at the time, and he decided to open up about his relationship.

He admitted that he wasn't ready for anything super serious by saying, “I don’t want to put anyone in a position where they feel like I’m only theirs, only to be hurt in the end. Right now in my life, I don’t want to be held down by anything."

Then, Justin dropped some words that we would circle back to years later. He added, "What if Hailey ends up being the girl I’m gonna marry, right? If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it’s always gonna be damaged." 

He continued, "It’s really hard to fix wounds like that. It’s so hard...I just don’t want to hurt her.”

While we were picking our jaws up from off of the ground, we also realized that Justin has also been on Hailey's radar for years, with the model tweeting at the pop star as early as 2012. 

Dropping a Mean Girls reference is apparently the key to Justin's heart. 

The model was also a massive Jelena shipper, and she tweeted her support for the couple way back in the day.

This makes us wonder what 2011 Hailey Baldwin would say if she knew she would one day be marrying Justin. 

Someone dug up some very hefty receipts that show a young Hailey holding up a teen magazine with some noteworthy text. 

The look in her eyes says, "He's mine!"

The signs have been clear for years that these two would end up together, and we need to take a couple of breaths.

Congrats to the happy couple. We're not jealous. Not at all.
