It's always nerve-wracking to take over a late night show from a beloved host. But James Corden managed to effortlessly make The Late Late Show his own.
He's become known for his Carpool Karaoke series that airs as a segment on his show, but also has a spin-off on Apple Music!
In the latest installment of Carpool Karaoke, people were shocked by the very ending of the video, and now the internet is debating about that moment.
It's always an exciting time to wake up and find that James Corden has uploaded the latest Carpool Karaoke on YouTube.
James manages to get the biggest musicians to film the segment. Sometimes they've been on more than once!

In a special edition of the famous segment, James drove a ton of celebrities around Los Angeles while they sang "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town."
He was joined by people like Miley Cyrus, Fifth Harmony, Sam Smith, and Katy Perry to belt out this holiday classic.

If the video had been just that, it would have still been an amazing way to end 2017 on a happy note.
But James and the Late Late team decided to add in a little something extra at the end.

In the video, James turns to Harry Styles and says, "Happy Christmas, Harold" before they share a longing gaze with one another. And then they lean in and share a smooch
"Wow, I did not expect that for Christmas," James said after.

People on Twitter went wild for this! Fans of Harry loved it. Some saw it as a sign that Harry is comfortable and confident in his sexuality.
Others pointed out that this is the second time James and Harry have kissed!

But then came the backlash. Some Twitter users were quick to point out that this shouldn't be newsworthy and is disrespectful since it comes across like it was done for views.

It's true that this is a problem on TV and in movies. Often times, heterosexual characters kissing the same sex are scripted for shock value. A recent example of this would be on The CW's Riverdale when Betty and Veronica kissed just to do something "outrageous" to get on the cheerleading squad.
But what do you think? Was it a light-hearted moment between friends? Was it a cheap ploy for views? Tell us in a comment!
